Institutional Access on HighWire Press

Institutions must have a current print-plus-electronic or electronic-only subscription to access journals online through HighWire Press. Please contact your agent or Duke University Press directly if you wish to order or renew a print-plus-electronic or electronic-only subscription.

Activating Electronic Subscriptions

To activate, please follow these instructions:

1. Visit dukejournals.org/subscriptions.

2. Under the “Activation” header, click “Institutions: Activate your online access.”

3. Enter your institution’s customer number. (If your institution has an e-mail address on file, activation instructions with customer number included will be sent when your order is processed. If your institution has multiple customer numbers, you will receive an e-mail for each one.)

4. Click “Submit,” which will produce an activation form.

5. Complete the form to activate your access to the products listed. The e-mail address provided will be used to contact you regarding electronic access.

6. Click “Send form.”

7. Click the button at the top of the page to register your institution’s IP addresses.

8. Click “Save.”

9. Your institution should now have access to Duke University Press titles. You will receive a confirmation e-mail at the e-mail address provided.

Ordering a Print Subscription

6. Click “Send form.”

7. You should now have access to Duke University Press titles. You will receive a confirmation e-mail at the e-mail address provided.
