When I join a society at a conference, when does my
membership begin?

It depends on when the conference is held and whether the society has membership requirements for conference attendees or for those who present papers. Generally, we assume that if you join a society before September 1, your membership is for the current calendar year, and you will receive the affiliated journal’s issues that have been published during that calendar year (some of which will be back issues) unless you indicate when you join that you would like your subscription to begin at some other time.
