When will the most recent issue of my subscription arrive?

Duke University Press journals ship via surface mail unless otherwise specified. U.S. customers should allow 4–6 weeks for delivery from the issue's mailing date. International orders can take 60–90 days. For the most up-to-date information regarding an issue's mailing date, please check the Journal Mailing Schedule.

How do I request a tracking number for a journal order?

Unfortunately, the postal service does not offer tracking numbers for surface mail shipments. If you specified another shipping arrangement that does offer tracking numbers, please visit our online Tracking Number Request Form.

To prevent a delay in processing the order, please include the single issue's volume and issue numbers. All single-issue orders must be prepaid. You may pay by check or money order (in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank) or by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). If you would like to pay by using a Proforma invoice, please request the invoice by using the Documentation Request Form.

I think I am missing an issue. How do I request a replacement copy?

Before sending in a claim for a replacement copy, please check our Journal Mailing Schedule to verify the date the issue was shipped.

To request a replacement copy, please visit our Online Claim Form. Once you have completed the form and received confirmation by e-mail, a replacement copy will be dispatched from our warehouse within 10 working days. If you are a customer in the U.S., please allow 4–6 weeks for surface shipping. If you are a customer outside the U.S., please allow 60–90 days for shipping. If we are unable to fill your claim for any reason, an explanation will be sent to the e-mail you have provided on the Claim Form.

I have not received any issues. When do my membership and subscription begin?

Membership is based on a calendar year. Generally, we assume that if you join a society before September 1, your membership is for the current calendar year, and you will receive the affiliated journal’s issues that have been published during that calendar year (some of which will be back issues) unless you indicate when you join that you would like your subscription to begin at some other time. Before sending in a claim for any replacement copy, please check our Journal Mailing Schedule to verify the date the issue was shipped.

Am I eligible for free online access as part of my subscription?

Free online access is a benefit available to subscribers of most Duke University Press journals. Please click here for a list of journals offered online. With a current print subscription, you can view electronic issues back to the year 2000 as well as current content. To take advantage of online access, you will need to register with HighWire Press and activate your electronic subscription.
