Your Society's Annual Meeting
Duke University Press will work with your society
to determine what type of presence the Press will have at the annual meeting.
We welcome the opportunity to send a representative each year. It is a good
way for us to get to know the needs of the society and for the society members
to hear the Press’s plans for the journal.
We encourage society officers to ask the society’s annual meeting coordinator
to contact the Press’s
society liaison well in advance regarding the Press’s presence at
the annual meeting. We will work with the coordinator to ensure that the meeting’s
registration form solicits all the information necessary for efficient and
complete data entry by the membership.
The Press representative will report to society and editorial office leadership
on membership and financial data and on the journal’s circulation, online
presence, usage statistics, promotion, and advertising exchanges. The representative
also will be happy to address the Press-society relationship, discuss trends
in publishing, and brainstorm ideas for promoting the journal or society benefits.
Please let the Press’s
society liaison know if there are special issues that you would like to
discuss.
