Scholarly Publishing Collective Launches 2026 Journal Pricing, New Title and Collection Updates

—2026 pricing for single journal titles that are part of the Scholarly Publishing Collective (the Collective), managed by Duke University Press, is now available. This includes titles from the American Mental Health Counselors Association, Cornell University Press, Michigan State University Press, Penn State University Press, SBL Press, Texas Tech University Press, University of Illinois Press, University of North Carolina Press, and West Virginia University Press. 

Title updates

  • Michigan State University Press:
    • Contagion will be moving to e-only beginning in 2026.
  • Penn State University Press:
    • George Eliot—George Henry Lewes Studies will move to an annual publication beginning with volume 78 (2026).
    • The Harold Pinter Review will cease publication after the 2025 volume. The archive content will remain available through the Collective.
    • Mediaevalia, associated with the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Binghamton University, SUNY, joined the PSU Press portfolio in 2025 and will be a new title for the 2026 Penn State Journals collection.
    • Nursing History Review, the official publication of the American Association for the History of Nursing, is now published by PSU Press and available through the Collective. Recent back volumes will be made available online for the first time. The journal will be included in the 2026 Penn State Journals Collection.
    • Journal of African Development, the official publication of the African Finance and Economic Association, will increase frequency to three issues per year with volume 27 (2026).
    • Journal of Natural Resources Policy Research will cease publication following the completion of volume 10. All content will remain available through the Collective.
  • University of Illinois Press:
    • American Literary Realism will cease publication following the completion of volume 57. Back volumes will continue to be available through the Collective.
    • Italian American Review is moving to a new publisher. Content will no longer be available through the Collective.
    • Journal of Education Finance and Law (formerly Journal of Education Finance) is newly available through the Collective and will be included in the 2026 Illinois Journals Collection.
    • Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association, an open access journal, is newly available through the Collective.
    • Notes: Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association will publish its first issue with UI Press in Fall 2026 and will be included in the 2026 Illinois Journals Collection.
  • University of North Carolina Press:
    • Appalachian Journal joined the UNC Press journals program in 2025 and is now available for order through the Collective.

Collection updates

  • Illinois Journals Collection. Provides online access to current scholarship from 40 UI Press journals for 2026, including 23 titles exclusive to the Scholarly Publishing Collective such as the American Journal of Psychology and the American Philosophical Quarterly. This collection offers a long-standing list of established titles in a wide range of disciplines, including philosophy and religion, ethnic and regional European studies, American studies, and music and visual culture, as well as the publications of several state historical societies. Notes: Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association and Journal of Education Finance and Law will be joining the collection in 2026.
  • Penn State Journals Collection. Provides online access to current scholarship from 80 PSU Press journals for 2026, including 42 titles with current content exclusive to the Scholarly Publishing Collective such as American Gothic Studies; Libraries: Culture, History, and Society; Nineteenth Century Studies; Victorians Institute Journal; and Resources for American Literary Study. The collection’s strengths include literary studies, history, cultural studies, theater, education, and religious studies. Mediaevalia and Nursing History Review will be joining the collection in 2026.
