Impasse, Interregnum, and Transition

Contributors to this special issue analyze impasse and interregnum, along with the rise of authoritarian politics in moments of transition, as historical problems with contemporary relevance. Engaging diverse viewpoints and interdisciplinary perspectives, the authors discuss climate change, migration, decolonization, the crisis of historical imagination in cultural production, and the relationship between capitalism and impasse.
