Submission Guidelines
The Romanic Review does not accept submissions sent by postal mail. Please submit your article with separate abstract (Word file format) by email attachment to romanicpub@columbia.edu

Blind Review Process
Our review process is double-blind. Please ensure that self-identifying references do not appear in your article or abstract.

Authorship
Authorship should be assumed only by those who have contributed materially to the work and its report, and who accept the responsibility for the accuracy of the concepts expressed. Colleagues who have otherwise assisted or collaborated should be recognized in the section for acknowledgments.

Article Specifications
Article submissions (c. 25 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12 point) must be in compliance with the guidelines described in the style guide (author instructions)

Style
When preparing an article for submission, please refer to the author instructions.

Article manuscripts must include a 150-word abstract at the beginning of the document and a list of three to five keywords expressing the precise content of the manuscript.

Artwork
All figures, tables, and images should be supplied in separate files. Art should be provided in a graphics file format. Please do not resize or change the file resolution of submitted figures. Halftone/color figure size: Standard size figure pixel width is 1250 px. Please refer to page 11 of Duke University Press’s art preparation guidelines for how to determine if pixel width is sufficient for printing. Line drawings should be saved at a minimum of 600 dpi. Always submit the source file as well. Duke University Press (DUP) recommends that only TIFF, EPS, or PDF formats are used for author-created artwork. For more detailed guidance on the preparation of illustrations, pictures and graphs in electronic format, please see DUP’s art preparation guidelines.

Please indicate whether figures should be printed in color. Authors are responsible for all print color costs. If usable color figures are supplied, these figures will appear in color online at no cost regardless of whether they are reproduced in color in the printed version.

Permissions
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders to reproduce any illustrations, tables, figures, or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere. A copy of the paperwork granting permission should be provided to the DUP production coordinator. You may be asked to pay a permissions fee by the copyright holder; any permissions fees must be paid for by the author. For guidance and an example of a permissions request letter, please see this page on DUP’s website.

Please review the documents below concerning the use of third-party images and texts included in your submission.
