Special Issue Editor: Fran Martin

As Chinese state and non-state actors expand transnational engagements, contributors to this special issue explore how China’s rise is reshaping not only macro-level geopolitics but also micro-level lives around the world. Contributors shed new light on ordinary human experiences of the global China era in China itself, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe. Foregrounding ethnographic perspectives, the authors discuss  the impacts of the People’s Republic of China state and non-state actors’ expanded global influence since the turn of the twenty-first century.

Contributors: Fanni Beck, Haijing Dai, Qian Gong, Christina Ho, Shuheng Jin, Anita Koo, Shih-Diing Liu, Fran Martin, Jacqueline Nelson, Pál Nyíri, Ngai Pun, Dallas Rogers, Lin Song, Huan Wu, Ting-Fai Yu
