Journal

Current Volume: 26

Frequency: 3 issues annually

Academic Editor: RHR Editorial Collective

For more than forty-five years, Radical History Review has stood at the point where rigorous historical scholarship and active political engagement converge. The journal is edited by a collective of historians with diverse backgrounds, research interests, and professional perspectives. Articles in RHR address issues of gender, race, sexuality, imperialism, and class, stretching the boundaries of historical analysis to explore Western and non-Western histories. RHR includes sections devoted to public history and the art of teaching as well as reviews of a wide range of media—from books to television and from websites to museum exhibitions—thus celebrating the vast potential for historical learning in the twenty-first century.

Radical History Review seeks to further political debate among historians, to explore radical interpretations of the past, and to stimulate cooperation and interaction among all progressive academics and activists.

Radical History Review is organized exclusively around theme-specific issues (world history, the Americas, empire, transnational labor movements, etc.). The journal welcomes submissions of articles and essays that correspond with the issues being planned and with currently posted calls for papers. Submissions that are unrelated to these themes will not be considered. We urge readers to check the Radical History Review website regularly for updates on future issues.

Submit manuscripts to be considered for publication by visiting https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/dup-rhr. If it is your first time submitting to RHR's online submission system, click Create an Account, go to your Author Center and follow the instructions there. Contributions should not exceed 35–40 pages. Radical History Review reserves the right to copyedit manuscripts to conform to the journal's style guide, which follows The Chicago Manual of Style, eighteenth edition. Spelling will be edited to conform to American English. Pieces that are substantially edited will be sent to the authors for review before publication.

Submission of an article implies that it has not been simultaneously submitted or previously published elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material under copyright. Contributors will be asked to assign their copyright, under certain conditions, to MARHO: The Radical Historians' Organization, Inc.
